In 20 minutes Norway turns off the lights for one hour while the rest of the world also joins us doing the same during Earth Hour. It is expected that millions of people and over 7000 cities will attend Earth Hour tonight and many famous landmarks around the world will turn off the light today to put focus on the climate and everything we use to have a better life. Among the 350 known landmarks that will go dark tonight are:
Empire State Building in New York, The Eiffel Tower in Paris, The Opera House in Sidney, and Taipei 101 in Taiwan’s capitol in Taipei.
Earth Hour is about more then just turning off the lights for 1 hour it is about understanding our actions, how much energy and how much money we use, the water we drink, the food we eat and what that does to our planet says FN`s General Secretary Nina Jensen.
SmackyGirl will turn the lights off at 20.30 my time which is about 15 minutes till for 1 hour to join millions of other humans on the planet trying to send a message to the world and the industries specially that we use too much and it is ruining our planet.
Are you turning off your lights?
